The program was the second half of the House Show whose first half was shown last week [See my ECW TV Report - May 28, 1999]. It began with a clip from last weeks ECW Tag Team Title Match, won by The Dudley Boyz to retain the Title. We saw Balls Mahoney put thru a burning table by a Bubba Bomb and pinned in the wreckage. See my ECW TV Report, May 28, 1999, for details.

After the regular ECW opening, Joey Styles was at the announcers position and welcomed the TV audience. He said as a result of Balls Mahoney and Axl Rotten losing last week, they will face each other next week.

The first match was announced as Little Guido, accompanied by the 600 pound walking hunk of human excrement, Big Sal E. Graziano, of the Full Blooded Italians, v. Nova.

At this point we went out to the parking lot and saw Cyrus call Steve Corrino over to talk. He told him he was ECW's Director of Talent Relations and was going to help Corrino become a star. Note to Corrino: Being you aren't the brightest bulb as is, listening to Cyrus isn't going to improve your IQ, or your health. Corrino said he was the biggest "Taz mark" in the world, however, after Cyrus told him Taz wasn't there, he went into his "I can kick Taz's @$$ routine." As Corrino walked away, Cyrus called him "a stupid SOB."

Taz drove up and invited Cyrus to go for a ride. After some hesitation, Cyrus got in and off they went. Taz said he needed someone to watch his back. Cyrus told Taz about Corrino's comments. Taz thanked him and after he let Cyrus out of the car, called him "a stupid SOB."

We went back to the ring and the match between Little Guido and Nova was in progress. They were out on the floor exchanging punches. They got back into the ring and Guido hit a Clothesline, but got caught on the top turn buckle, was crotched, dropped to the mat and stomped. After a furious exchange of moves, Nova went for an Inside Cradle, but Big Sal distracted the referee to prevent a pinfall. Guido applied an arm bar, released it, stomped the arm, and hit a face first slam. Nova fought back and he hit a face first slam and went for a cover. Again Big Sal prevented the pin. He pulled Nova out of the ring and threw him into the guard rail. Sal then placed Nova on a table at ringside and put him thru it with an elbow drop off the apron, squashing Nova into the size of an anchovy. This got us an "Oh, my G-d" from Joey. He has been sort of lax with them lately. Big Sal rolled Nova back into the ring and Guido applied a Sicilian Crab to win the match. Guido refused to release the hold and this brought Yoshohiro Tajiri to the ring. He nailed Guido with a kick to the head forcing Guido to release the hold. Big Sal hauled his lard @$$ into the ring and he also took a kick to the head. The building shook and the local seismograph registered a 5.7 as he went down.

Winner - Little Guido
Loser - The building's foundation

We saw a montage of past action involving Super Crazy and Taka Michinoku, who will meet in the next match.

We went backstage and saw Cyrus again talking to Corrino. He assured him that Taz wasn't there and convinced him it was OK to imitate Taz in his upcoming match. Corrino practiced his act. This led into a montage showing past history between Corrino and Taz. At this point I made a note to call me insurance agent and took out a life insurance policy on Corrino.

Joey reviewed what is going on: Apparently Cyrus is conning Corrino and Taz is conning Cyrus. I made another call to my insurance agent and doubled the policy.

The next match was Super Crazy v. Taka Michinoku. Taka started with a headlock and after Crazy broke it, hit him with a shoulder block, a series of kicks and punches, and the an Irish Whip that sent Crazy over the turn buckle and to the floor. Taka went out after him, but Crazy recovered and nailed Taka with an Asahi Moonsault off the top turn buckle, landing on his feet. Crazy punched Taka and they returned to the ring. Crazy sent Taka across the ring with an Irish Whip, followed with a clothesline and ten punches to the head as he had Taka pinned in the corner. Taka came back and dropped Crazy face first on the top turn buckle, hit a Snap Mare, a drop kick, a scoop and slam, stomps to the midsection, dropped onto his midsection, and chops to the throat and face. Crazy mounted a comeback and dropped Taka face first on the mat, hit a Leaping DDT, a series of chops and kicks, a scoop and slam and a Moonsault off the top turn buckle. He sent Taka to the corner with an Irish Whip, but got caught charging in and ate a boot (does it ever fail)? Taka nailed a pair of Tornado DDT's and went for a cover. Crazy came back with a kick to the stomach, a vertical suplex and a pin attempt. Taka hit a Hurricanrana, a scoop and slam, but missed a Moonsault. Crazy then hit a Moonsault of his own. After another Irish Whip, a Spin Kick and a Springboard Spinning Heel Kick, Taka went for the Michinoku Driver twice, but Crazy was able to avoid both attempts. Crazy hit a DDT and a sitout power bomb and pinned Taka.

Winner - Super Crazy
Loser - SamJerry's sanity - trying to keep up with and record the action

We saw Cyrus backstage talking on the phone. No idea who to.

Corrino came to the ring imitating Taz for his match v. Tom Marquez. As he did, we saw a series of clips involving Corrino and Cyrus, and Taz's victory over Bubba Ray Dudley at Hardcore Heaven to retain the ECW Championship. The match was in progress (what else)? when we returned. Corrino was all over Marquez and was imitating Taz every chance he got. He hit a TazPlex as Cyrus had suggested earlier. We switched backstage and saw Cyrus knocking on Taz's dressing room door. He told Taz that Corrino was in the ring mocking him. Being the mild mannered individual that he is, Taz made his way to the ring. Marquez vanished into thin air, leaving Corrino sitting in a corner crying like a baby at the sight of Taz. His trunks were wet in front and stained in back. Believing Cyrus that Taz was not in the building proved to be a poor career move for Corrino. He pleaded with Taz not to kill him, pointing out that he has a wife and child at home. He said his appendix was hurting again. Proving that he still hasn't learned, Corrino said his best friend was there and was going to kick Taz's @$$. Chris Candido came out and headed to the ring. The distraction gave Corrino the opportunity to take off, and he did.

Taz had beaten Candido in less than one minute when they met for the Title at Hardcore Heaven. Candido said that Taz only beat him because he wasn't prepared for their match. He called Taz a back stabber and said there was n way Taz could beat him if he was ready. He challenged Taz to a match. Taz asked the crowd if they wanted it and after they agreed, it got underway as Taz clocked Candido with the ECW Belt, sending him to the floor. Taz abused Candido at ringside and dumped him into the crowd. Candido was first back in the ring and stomped Taz as he tried getting in. He hit a high vertical suplex. He came off the top turn buckle, but was greeted by a belly-to-belly TazPlex. I far the end is near. Candido tried to fight back, landing a series of chops, but got caught coming in by a Clothesline. Taz sat him on the top turn buckle and brought him off the hard way, with a major TazPlex (I think it was an arm and shoulder TazPlex). Taz followed with a T-Bone TazPlex and The TazMission. End of the road for Candido. He will be seeing TazPlexes in his nightmares for weeks.

Winner - Taz - Retains the ECW Championship
Loser - Steve Corrino - Need more be said?

Taz talked with Cyrus backstage. He thanked him for clueing him in on Corrino's actions. As Cyrus walked away, he muttered "Stupid SOB." Taz was muttering the something about Cyrus.

Joey tried to put things in perspective. Cyrus is playing Corrino; Taz is playing Cyrus; maybe Corrino is playing everyone. Joey figures that Corrino is going to have Taz take everyone out like he did Candido and that will get him a title shot. Even though he knows Taz will wipe him out, he would move way up in ECW's hierarchy by virtue of the title shot. Only Joey Baby could explain this.

Joey then talked about Lance Storm and Justin Credible getting Sabu banned from performing due to his fractured jaw.

Credible came to the ring along with his manager Jason. He dissed Detroit (Sabu is from the area) and said Sabu was too chicken to face him tonight. He neglected to tell the crowd that Sabu was banned from the building. A local ECW official (?) came to the ring and said New York State and the rest of the country can ban Sabu, but that don't count for crap in Detroit. He said the match was on. That brought Sabu and his manager Bill Alfonso to the ring. It also sent Justin and Jason to the floor protesting Sabu's presence. They told security to remove him. The crowd broke into a chant of "Sabu." Justin went over the guard rail and into the crowd as Sabu went for him. A bunch of security people and a referee got into the ring. The referee told Sabu that he had to leave. Sabu pounded the crap out if him and threw him to the floor. He put him on a table and then thru it with a leap over the top rope. Justin got back in and it took the entire group of security people to keep Sabu away. We had the usual break away and short fight a couple of times. That brought Sid out and as he headed to the ring, we got an "Oh, my G-d" and Joey's "Sid is a monster" routine. The program ended on that note.
