Guest471: Hi Everyone sorry I'm a bit late... This is Shane Douglas... aka The Franchise!
Guest471: Let's get the record straight.
Guest471: Fire away with your questions and as always, I'll give you a shoot answer!

Question: Where did you get your tights from? I'm going to order a pair just like them!
Guest471: A lady in Ambridge PA made my tights.

Question: Shane you made comments last week concerning where the money goes in ECW. Can you expound on that?
Guest471: If I knew where the money went, I'd still be there.

Question: Shane, what were the terms under which you left the WWF as "Dean" Douglas?
Guest471: That's a tough question, but to me, it's all water under the bridge, I'm just looking forward to applying my skills wherever they are appreciated.

Question: Shane, really big fan of yours...can you tell us a little about your workout regimen? Do you use creatine? Care to clear up any of the steroid rumors?
Guest471: I'm willing at any time to take a urine test to prove that I'm clean. Will all other wrestlers do the same? I spend nearly 15 hours a week in the gym and that is the reason for the physique and the condition. Nothing more.

wbhc: Being that there is a strong chance of appearing with the WWF again, any chance of putting business first and forgetting the Shawn Michaels/Clique problems?
Guest471: As for Shawn Michaels, I've already put that behind me.
Guest471: The Franchise only knows how to shoot, nothing else.
Guest471: In the WWF, I'm looking for fair treatment to allow me to exhibit my skills as I have in the ECW. And let them be utilized.
Guest474: Shane, can we get a little personal backgound, wife, kids...how do your wife feel about your work with Francine?
Guest471: I don't speak openly about my personal life... next question please.
Guest471: I have no intentions of working for anybody or any company in anything other than a "main rule".
Guest471: sorry... main rool.

Question: Shane, what do you think about Brett Hart fighting DDP?
Guest471: I have no idea what they are talking about with Brett and DDP.
Guest471: I have great admiration and respect for Steve Austin, and have since we've worked in 1993 in tag matches with Steamboat and Pillman.

magicdawg: Would you want to have a match with Flair if you went to WCW?
Guest471: I'd take on Flair anytime any place... in any type of match.

WebmasterShawnV: Shane....we all have heard about it....how do you feel phisically?
Guest471: Physically I feel great.

Question: Were you really planning to retire in Queens
Guest471: In Queens, the retirement angle was Paul E's twist to my legit desire to retire the week before.

Question: Shane, how do you feel about Terry Taylor's comments that the WWF is not interested in you?
Guest471: My agent has talked with representatives of the WWF and I have great respect for Vince McMahon, contrary to prior statements.

Question: Shane what do you think about mcmann's negotiating tactics??
Guest471: I think McMahon is a very intelligent businessman and will do what's best for his company.

Question: Shane, will you be able to use your ECW music in the WWF if you go? It is awesome!!!
Guest471: My understanding is that they already have rights to "Perfect Strangers" it was on the Stone Cold album. So it'sa a perfect fit.

Question: Have you had any contact with ECW since the shoot at the Arena?
Guest471: No direct contact with Paul E Although I'd be more than willing to talk to him at any time. He has my number.

At this point people were doubting that Guest 471 WAS The Franchise...
Guest471: What proof do you want that it's me?
Question: HEY, 471 if you are Douglas then what event were you at last night?
Guest471: I was at the White Plains NAWA Show last night. The Franchise was bigger than the title and not having the belt played absolutely no role in my leaving the ECW, contrary to other people's public statements

Question: What about a match between you and Ric Flair?
Guest471: As for Ric Flair, I think an angle would be a huge ratings grabber and a moneymaker.

Question: Mr. Shane Douglas, can you please explain what happened between you and Scott Hall in the WWF?
Guest471: What happened between myself and Scott Hall is public record.

Question: hi, Shane how close are you to Francine?
Guest471: We are very close friends and have remmained so. I wish her well with Tommy.

Question: Shane, about some copyrights- do you own the Pittsburgh Plung and Belly-t-Belly as your finishers or is it ECW's?
Guest471: I own copyrights to Shane Douglas, The Franchise, The Triple Threat and all relevant logos.

Question: Shane, who do you think would make a good opponent when/if you first enter the WWF? Could you put past problems with the clique behind you to work a good match with HHH?
Guest471: Stone Cold Steve Austin. I'd take him out in 3 minutes tops.

Question: So, if you own it can you reveal any possible candidates for the new Tripel Threat in the WWF?
Guest471: The Triple Threat would definitely be part of any future plans with any company.

Question: Shane Douglas what would you rather watch on Monday nights? -- WWF RAW or WCW Nitro?
Guest471: Raw or Nitro, whichever pays the most!!!

Question: past angles aside, what do you think of Justin's future?
Guest471: I think Justin Credible is a great talent. I'm a mark for his work.

Question: Shane, do you have any set plans on when you would like to enter the WWF, and how does that correspond with your plans in the NAWA?
Guest471: Any commitments made by me will be fulfilled.

Question: Shane, what's the bloodiest you've ever been (Opponent, why so much blood, ect.) ?
Guest471: After the arena match with Justin, I was pretty bloody

Question: Shane, what do you think of the Rock's in the ring skills?
Guest471: the Rock has really progressed in the past year. He is a great talent.

Question: Also, on a recent WWF.COM 'Byte This', Kevin Kelly (the host) said that you would never be allowed back in the WWF, and said you "blew your chance". What are your feelings on that?
Guest471: I think Kevin is playing the WWF position very well at this point.

Question: I consider the 4 way for the TV title one of your best.. your opinions on that match?
Guest471: It was a great match. Jerico, Pitbull2 and Scorpio are all great oponents.

Question: Shane, you have made it clear that money will factor in your next career move. With that in mind, if ECW could financially meet your wants, would you return?
Guest471: Absolutely. My heart has always been with ECW. No one is more shocked at the recent turn of events than I am.

Question: Shane, I dont know if you have answered this yet....BUT...what did you think after Joey Styles stated that You will probably not be back in the ECW?
Guest471: I think Joey Styles is playing the ECW public position very well.

Question: Well, I am not talking about Styles himself, but what Heymen probably had him state
Guest471: My relationship with Paul Heymen spans 13 years, which is why I'm bewildered by this turn of events.

Question: The biggest heat you received was when you grabbed Gary Wolf's halo at the arena. Any regrets on that angle or did it just play so well in the hands of the fans that it was a job well done?
Guest471: That was a very scary night. The fan reaction from a personal standpoint was intimidating. From a business stand point, was terrific.

Question: who would you pay to see wrestle? (if anyone)
Guest471: Shane Douglas vs. Flair, Austin, Goldberg, The Rock, etc., etc., etc.

Question: That brings me to my next question...what do you think of goldberg?
Guest471: I've heard great things about Goldberg. I've heard he's a great person. He has incredible in-ring persona.

Question: What do you think of Triple H Shane? Have you ever performed with him in the ring?
Guest471: I think Triple H has really progressed as a heel. God knows the WWF needs heels. That's why fans have been saying the WWF stands for We Want the Franchise. I suggest to all the fans that they take signs to the next RAW with that slogan to let the WWF know how they feel about the franchise.

Question: Shane, it almost sounds like you're saying leaving ECW was Paul Heyman's move, not yours. Which was it? Did you quit, or were you released?
Guest471: I neither quit nor was released. My relationship is still intact, as far as I've been told.

WebmasterShawnV: Shane...what are your thoughts of guys like Hogan, Piper, Flair, Savage....staying around?
Guest471: I think Hogan, Piper, Savage, and Flair, HAVE been great talents, but let's get to the future.

Question: Then, if your relationship with ECW is still intact, why were you not at the Pay per view, as was advertised, to wrestle Justin Credible?
Guest471: I never received a plane ticket or itinerary. I was not responsible for the advertising. Paul E. was.

Question: Any chance you'll show up under the Blue Blazer mask on Sunday?
Guest471: Anything's possible. Ask Vince that question.

Question: how old are you shane? just currious
Guest471: 35 years young.

Question: When did you decide to give up the Belly 2 Belly and go w/ The Pittsburgh Plunge
Guest471: After the elbow injury I wanted a finishing hold that was more devastating than my 10-year-old belly to belly.

Question: That reminds me, were you working it more than need be in your WrestlePalooza match w/ Al Snow?
Guest471: I don't remember WrestlePalooza because of the fractured palate. The injury was the most serious of my career. I could have caused serious damage by wrestling that night but chose to give the fans what they paid for.

Question: hate to sound like a mark, but Al Snow is really nuts right?
Guest471: Al Snow is a great talent and yes he is nuts.

Question: shane will you be in fallriver on the 29th with ecw?
Guest471: If they send me a plane ticket and pay me...

Question: Shane, with the heat that exists between yourself, Flair, Hall, and Nash would you ever consider going to WCW, if they ever made contact with you?
Guest471: If I can put the WWF heat behind me, I can surely put anything behind me. I'm a big enough man to do that.

Question: Shane, would you like to work a match with Ken Shamrock? What do think about the transition he made from UFC?
Guest471: I would love to work with Ken Shamrock. I'm also a mark for his work. He's made a great transition from shootfighting.
WebmasterShawnV: Shane...what are your thought on Mick Foley almost killing himself night in and night out!

Guest471: Mick is paying for the years of devotion he's given the fans. It's taking its toll on his physically, but he still gives his heart every night.
Guest471: Mick Foley has always had anstill does have my greatest respect.

Question: Wouldn't it be an obvious ratings bonanza for WCW to do a shoot angle with you and Flair, since you do know Benoit And Malenko? How about the new 4 Horsemen?
Guest471: WCW, if they are objective, can retake the ratings lead, if they went with such an angle.

Question: Shane, the Sandman (Hak) said that you changed your phone number when all the recent rumors about your status with ECW came out. Any truth to this? Were you intentionally trying to keep a low profile?
Guest471: All my phones were disonnected due to circumstances beyond my control. hint, hint... but have been turned back on this week.

Question: Thanks Shane! Any chance of you Showing up at Nitro and slapping Kevin Nash for his lack of booking new talent on main events? Pleasse!!!!
Guest471: Again, ANYTHING is possible with the franchise.

Question: Shane, what do you think is the future of ecw? Will it fold?
Guest471: If top talent continues to disappear, ECW can't survive.

Question: The yellow and black tights/boots/ect., is that because you're from Pittsburgh?
Guest471: No, it's because I like bees...Of course it's because I'm from Pittsburgh.

Question: Shane, I know this is your chat...but...can you inform us whats up with Candido (being a former TT member)...he was jobbed in under at minute at Hardcore Heaven...is he going to Atlanta?
Guest471: I've not spoken to Candido. He has not returned calls. Your guess is as good as mine.

Question: Franchise, what was your relationship like with some of the old-UWF guys (i.e. Sting, Hot Stuff, Rick Steiner, etc.)?
Guest471: I've always gotten along well with Sting, Steiner, etc.

Question: Shane, we were talking about this before- what will your name be if you compete in the WWF? Will it be "The Franchise" Shane Douglas. Because Shane McMahon is in the WWF and u know how they get with the names- for example Rocko Rock had to change his name to "FlyBoy" b/c it sounded like "The Rock".
Guest471: I own the franchise Shane Douglas, therefore, I'll be the franchise Shane Douglas in the future.

Question: Shane, obviously with your current status, the "sheets" are having a field day. What's your opinion of the Observer, Lariat and Torch?
Guest471: They provide a service that fans like, therefore they're useful.

Question: Please never become Dean Douglas, unless you can rip on everyone in Wrestling!
Guest471: Dean Douglas is dead, I swear. I will never play that role again. I'm only going to be on for 10 more minutes so get your questions in.

Question: we want dean ; )
Guest471: Watch Dean...Malenko then.

Question: Shane just curious, what's your favorite video game if you have one?
Guest471: ECW's video game...no wait...that's not out yet.

Question: So at this point, you have no contract, and could show up anywhere that's willing to pay, correct?
Guest471: Indirectly, WCW has contacted me, yes. The doors of negotiation will begin to open there next week. I'm a gun for hire, that's right.

UncutJoe: Shane, ever think of going to Japan?
Guest471: Japan remains an option. Johnny Ace is a booker there and we remain good friends.
Guest471: I'm 250 pounds. I will always be a heavyweight.
Guest471: At this point, the phone at my school (724) 891-ECW3 has been ringing off the hook for people to book me.
Question: My final question: Shane, do you ever worry that being so outspoken will cost you in terms of opportunity to work in the US?
Guest471: Being outspoken, truthful, and honest are the only ways I know how to talk and carry myself. It has gotten me into trouble, but it's also the franchise, for better or for worse. ** Guest471 exits.
