"You can all go home and tickle the keys and send ECW a message. I've never been a stranger to controversy, I've never strayed from it. I've stared it right in the eyes. I started by throwing down the NWA belt in this ring and built a f***ing company called Extreme Championship Wrestling. How many people want to hear the Franchise shoot? It's not something I planned on, but let's f***ing do it. The money people in ECW that bust their balls every f***ing night, and are not appreciated because of the money problems. I can tell you this, I have broken my body in half to make sure that you fans get your money's worth, and I think you've gotten it out of the Franchise. You know, I knew there was a reason I loved this building, and its you motherf***ers. You've seen a lot of bulls*** in this sport today, but I can tell you this, on the night that I tried to take my belt back from Taz, you people showed me a respect and something I never believed existed in this sport anymore, a true love for what we do, and a true love back from me to you. The rumors on the Internet are partially true, and mostly untrue, but I will tell you this, when I held those boots in the air in Queens, NY, everything about Shane Douglas, in my career has been a f***ing shoot. And that was true, people, I was on the verge of retirement. And tonight I will stand here, and I will tell you this, movements and action by Paul Heyman have pushed me just a bit further to that present. I never wanted this to be a retirement speech, but I will tell you this, I will walk away from the sport before I let anybody f*** me. You people that have busted your asses, day in and day out, and buy a ticket at that front door, do not deserve to have your money go in somebody else's pocket. I think you buy a ticket because you want the people that bust their f***in' balls in this ring to get paid. Regardless of where the Franchise, and I will always be the Franchise, ends up, you can damn well bet, I will bust my ass every f***ing night in the ring. I will give you performances that other people, both in ECW and in other companies, dream they could have. I will bring dignity to any match and any belt around my waist that only Shane Douglas can do in 1999. I threw a belt down in this ring, and I raised another belt and today that belt is recognized, worldwide, as the ECW World's Heavyweight Title. You're welcome, Paul Heyman. This was a tiny organization, with a crowd about half of what it is now, and we have sold this building out and turned people away because of the types of things that people like me have done in this ring. you're welcome Paul Heyman. Guys like New Jack have jumped off of things like that, and broken things in half and bruised their bodies. you're welcome Paul Heyman. ECW has a show tomorrow called a Pay-per-view. They weren't on Pay-per-view until somebody, yours truly, came back from the World Wrestling Federation. It wasn't by coincidence, and you are f***ing welcome, Paul Heyman. To go with that, you cannot no show, what you've not been contracted to be at in the first place, Paul Heyman." (from 1wrestling.com)
